Chairman of Ram Mandir Construction Committee, Nripendra Mishra on Sunday (June 14, 2026) reacting to the formation of a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the Uttar Pradesh government in connection with the alleged financial irregularities in the donations received by the Ram Temple Trust, said the committee will make recommendations regarding any pending issues, identified shortcomings, and the necessary remedial measures.

“The most praiseworthy aspect is that the State government acted in less than 24 hours to constitute the SIT and appointed very senior officers to it…we should support the initiative, given the speed at which the state government is acting, setting a timeframe of just 15 days. A preliminary report is due in 7 days…the committee will make recommendations regarding any pending issues, identified shortcomings, and the necessary remedial measures…” said Mr. Mishra, speaking to media persons in Ayodhya.

The SIT has been formed to probe allegations of disappearance of donations made to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, following a request from the Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Trust and directed to submit a final report within 15-days and preliminary report within seven days.

The members of the SIT include Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Inspector General Kiran S, and Special Secretary (Finance) Neel Ratan.

An official statement issued from the Chief Minister’s Office in Uttar Pradesh reads, “On the instructions of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and in response to the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted by the government in connection with the alleged financial irregularities in the donations received by the Trust,”.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav in a cryptic message reacted to the decision of the State Government of forming SIT. “The origin of this conspiracy is not far away, so there will be no need to go far to take action. If the police are unable to trace the culprit, we can help,” wrote Mr. Yadav, on X.
