The Tiruchi Railway Division has proposed to conduct high speed trial runs in the railway section between Villupuram and Tiruchi via Vriddhachalam on May 15 from 6.30 a.m. to 9 a.m. as part of enhancement of sectional speed in the section. 

The speed trials are proposed to be conducted by running trains with speed exceeding 140 km per hour. In view of ensuring operational safety and smooth conduct of the trials, all necessary precautionary and safety arrangements are being coordinated by the railway administration. 

The Tiruchi Division has appealed to the general public to cooperate with the railway authorities and avoid trespassing across railway tracks and not to cross level crossing gates once they are closed and strictly follow the instructions of railway staff to ensure safe movement during the trial period, a press release from the Division said on Tuesday.
