In a tragic incident, two seven-year-old boys drowned in a water-filled pit of a house under construction in Mansur village of Dharwad district.
The incident happened on Wednesday night and the deceased have been identified as Ningappa Mudakannavar of Mansur and Pratham Ullagaddi, a resident of Sattur in Dharwad.
According to the police, Pratham had come to his maternal uncle’s house for summer vacation and he, along with Ningappa, had gone out to play.
As they did not return till late in the evening, the family members started a search for them in a pit filled with water.
The pit was dug for storing water for construction of the house in the village.
The Dharwad Rural Police have registered a case.
