A rider escaped unhurt after his electric scooter caught fire on Vaigai dam road in Andipatti in Theni district, on Saturday. The rider, after noticing smoke emanating from the e-bike, immediately slowed down the vehicle, parked it on the roadside and moved to a safe distance. Within seconds fire engulfed the vehicle, destroying it completely. Despite the best efforts of the rider and the public, to put out the fire, the vehicle was completely destroyed.
