An awareness and training programme on self-enumeration for the first phase of Census 2027 — house-listing and building enumeration — was held at the Collectorate on Friday.
The programme was chaired by District Collector and Principal Census Officer Ishita Rathi. Officials said the self-enumeration exercise, under which residents can upload their family details through an online portal, will be carried out from May 17 to May 31 as part of the preliminary phase of Census 2027.
Government department officials and staff from across the district participated in the training programme aimed at ensuring error-free data collection.
R. Mohan, master trainer for the Census exercise, explained the process of using the self-enumeration portal, methods for accurately entering details, and procedures for clarifying doubts likely to be raised by the public.
The Collector urged heads of departments and officials concerned to extend full cooperation for the successful implementation of the exercise and to help achieve 100% self-enumeration in the district.
