Special pouches to keep mobile phones safe have been supplied to all polling stations in Coimbatore district ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly election, as part of measures to maintain secrecy during voting.
Election officials said voters will not be allowed to carry mobile phones into polling booths. To facilitate compliance, arrangements for safekeeping of mobile phones have been made at polling station premises.
