The AIADMK front has faced one of the worst defeats in Virudhunagar district in the Assembly elections as the Dravidian party and its ally, BJP, were relegated to the third spot in six out of the seven Assembly constituencies.
In the 7th Assembly seat, the third spot went to TVK which otherwise has won lion’s share -- four seats -- in the district.
