Pothole menace

A big pothole has recently formed on the stretch between Rockins Road and Aristo roundabout in Tiruchi. It is about a foot deep and about five to seven feet wide, posing much hardship to road users. Private and government city buses ply on the road 24 hours a day between Tiruchi Railway Junction and Central Bus Stand. I request the officials to repair the road immediately.

Stray cattle, dogs

Stray cattle and dogs roam freely round the clock in Sundarraj Nagar and Highways Colony, posing a nuisance to the local residents, particularly morning walkers and those returning home late evening. They pose a big threat to young children playing on the roads during summer holidays. I request the corporation to put an end to the menace. The authorities should also warn the people against feeding the animals, which is one of the main reasons for their presence in these localities.

Information board

The reserve forests around Tiruchi serve as home for wild animals such as gaurs and deer. Information boards on the areas should be displayed not only inside the forests such, but also on the foot hills and nearby areas so that the people are aware of them. Open wells near the reserve forests should be fenced to prevent animals from falling into them.

Exclusive ward

The move to create an exclusive ward for heat stroke cases in Tiruchi MGMGH is the need of the hour. This is especially so when the Indian Metrological Department has predicted hotter days ahead. Meanwhile, makeshift shelters should be put up at vantage points in the city to administer first aid before the patients are shifted to hospitals. All public health centres should be instructed to stock enough IV fluids and oral rehydration solutions to treat dehydration and related illnesses.

Large stones

Large stones placed along the Mannarpuram Flyover towards TVS Tollgate in Tiruchi pose a significant threat to speeding vehicles, especially during night and peak hours. They could lead to accidents. I request the authorities to remove them and ensure commuter safety.

I travelled from Pudukkottai to Tiruchi by a TNSTC air-conditioned bus recently. I was seated near the window and water started dripping from the air-conditioner vent above my head. I request TNSTC officials to rectify such issues immediately.
