Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Principal Census Officer, R.V. Karnan, conducted an inspection of the House Listing Operation going on at Shamshabad on Friday, May 15, 2026, in order to review the field-level implementation and accurate data collection.
Accompanied by Additional Commissioner (Election) and Zonal Commissioner, Shamshabad, Chandrakala, he interacted with the enumerators and supervising staff, and examined the procedures being followed for house listing and collection of demographic details. He issued directions for completion of the process by June 9 this year.
Mr. Karnan instructed the field staff to ensure that every household is covered without omission and requested citizens to cooperate with the enumerators by providing information.
He directed the Deputy Commissioners to cooperate with the census staff and assign the field level officers, Bill Collectors, tax inspectors required.
A statement from GHMC informed of a review meeting on Pre-SIR mapping conducted by Ms. Chandrakala with the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, supervisors, and Booth Level Officers of the Charminar Assembly constituency.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of pre-revision activities and ensuring accurate mapping of electoral data in the constituency.
During the meeting, Ms. Chandrakala emphasised the importance of maintaining coordination in the electoral revision process. She instructed the officials to carry out field-level verification meticulously and ensure that all voters are properly covered during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Special attention was given to resolving discrepancies, updating voter information, and strengthening booth-level monitoring.
The officials were also directed to work in close coordination to complete the mapping process within the stipulated timelines, the statement said.
