A private television channel employee was killed after a bus collided with his two-wheeler near Maduravoyal on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Muthu Jaganathan, a resident of West Mada Street in Maduravoyal, who was employed with Sun TV Network.
According to the police, a government bus heading from Villupuram to Chennai hit Muthu’s two-wheeler, throwing him off the vehicle. He died on the spot.
On receiving information, personnel from the Traffic Investigation Wing, Koyambedu, rushed to the scene and recovered the body.
It was later sent to the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The police have detained the driver of the government bus and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash.
Delivery man killed
In another accident, Velayutham, 50, of Iyyappanthangal and an employee of an online delivery company, was killed after a water tanker rammed his two-wheeler near Kumananchavadi on Thursday.
The police said the lorry hit his motorcycle from behind, causing him to fall and suffer fatal head injuries. The Traffic Investigation Wing police, Avadi, recovered the body and sent it for a postmortem.
The lorry driver, Ayyavu, 54, of Kattupakkam, was arrested.
