Minister for Health K.G. Arunraj distributed welfare assistance to beneficiaries on Monday. In a function held at Tiruchengode Panchayat Union office, he distributed welfare assistance totalling ₹1.76 crore to 497 beneficiaries, including ₹1.68 crore in loans for 152 women’s self-help group members.
Speaking to reporters, he said instructions were given to food safety officers to ensure quality food is provided in hotels. As for vacancies in the Health Department, 96% of the sanctioned posts have been filled. Corruption would be reduced in all departments. On regularising contract staff, a decision would be made after consulting with Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, Mr. Arunraj added.
District Collector L. Madhubalan and other officials participated.
Earlier in the day, the Minister inspected the Mallasamudram Primary Health Centre and interacted with the public.
