In a major boost to road connectivity and infrastructure development in Mysuru district, MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has secured approval for a series of road development and improvement projects worth nearly ₹50 crore under the Central Road Fund.

The projects, spread across Mysuru, Hunsur and Periyapatna taluks, are aimed at improving road connectivity, easing traffic congestion, enhancing public safety and supporting rural and economic development.

Among the projects approved is the improvement of selected stretches of the Ramanathapura–Terakanambi section of State Highway-86 in Hunsur taluk from 50.75 km to 64.87 km at a cost of ₹6 crore.

Another ₹3.75 crore has been sanctioned for the development of the SH-289 road from Hadya (SH-86) to Avarti (SH-287) via Kittur, Attigodu, Bettadapura (SH-21) and Chikkanerale in Periyapatna taluk.

The SH-297 road from Hunsur (NH-275) to Periyapatna (NH-275) via Neelavagilu, Ramenahalli, Honnenahalli, Hangodu, Panchavalli (SH-90) and Sathyagala will be upgraded at a cost of ₹1 crore.

In Mysuru taluk, selected stretches of the Ilavala–K.R. Nagar Road on SH-117 from 0.00 km to 10.40 km will be improved with an allocation of ₹6 crore, according to a press release.

As part of urban infrastructure upgrades, roads connecting Vijayanagar 2nd and 3rd Stage areas in Chamaraja constituency to the NH-275K Mysuru Ring Road will be developed at a cost of ₹6 crore. A similar ₹6 crore project has been approved to improve connectivity from Naidunagar in Narasimharaja constituency to the NH-275K Ring Road.

In rural Mysuru, the Bilikere–Chellahalli–Gejjayyanavaddaragudi road connecting Bilikere, Dallalu, Dallalu Koppalu, Hallikere, Chellahalli, Mahadevapura and Dharmapura over a stretch of 18.20 km will be developed at a cost of ₹15 crore.

Additionally, ₹7 crore has been earmarked for the development of the Chellahalli–Hosapura–Tippuru–Mahadevapura road from 0.00 km to 4.64 km.

Speaking about the projects, Mr. Wadiyar said road infrastructure development was crucial for economic growth, rural connectivity, public safety and balanced regional development. He added that efforts would continue to bring more development-oriented projects and infrastructure investments to Mysuru district.

The projects are expected to benefit students, farmers, traders and residents in both rural and urban areas by improving transportation and connectivity across the district, he said.
