University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been nominated as the Lead Knowledge Institute for Telangana government under NITI Aayog’s State Support Mission, “an umbrella initiative designed to provide structured, institutionalised support to States and Union Territories”.
UoH, in a release, said that it was communicated about the nomination by the State Planning Department. Under the initiative, UoH is expected to contribute to the State government through its domain expertise, data analysis, research support, policy design, implementation assistance, and capacity building in preparation for Vision@2047 or Viksit Bharat.
In-charge Vice-Chancellor J. Anuradha, expressing pride and thanking the Planning Department for reposing confidence in UoH, said the initiative presents an excellent opportunity for the faculty and researchers to translate academic knowledge into actionable policy support and public impact. She urged faculty members across schools and departments to contribute and collaborate in making the partnership a model of university–government engagement.
“With the R&D Cell coordinating this mission and active participation from concerned academic units, I am confident that the university will make a strong and meaningful contribution toward evidence-based governance, institutional strengthening, and inclusive development,” she stated.
