Hyderabad parliamentarian Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the suspected hit-and-run case of Khaja Moizuddin and demanded that the ‘cowardly’ attack be treated as murder. He described it as a big conspiracy to put an end to the victim’s work for protection of Waqf properties.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Owaisi said on Saturday, “I have spoken to senior police officials. We have demanded that the cowardly attack in which Mr. Moizuddin lost his life, be treated as a murder. It is indeed a big conspiracy to finish him off. Those who have taken his life, their sole purpose was to kill him and stop his work. Our demand to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his government is to not only arrest those who committed the murder, but also arrest the main conspirator. Invoke BNSS’ organised crime section, and if possible, a special court should be constituted for the trial.” He said that it was true that the victim was being ‘threatened for his work’ over the past few years.
Mr. Owaisi also demanded that the victim’s family be given security, an impartial and speedy inquiry.
“For this to happen in Hyderabad, gives a very wong message. Those who have taken law into their own hands, such culprits should be taught a lesson. Our party will meet the DGP and the Commissioner of Police,” he said.
