A 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a canal near Joldapka village in Bhalki taluk of Bidar district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Shoaib.
According to sources, Shoaib had gone swimming with his friends in the Karanja canal near the village when he accidentally slipped and fell into deep waters and died.
Personnel from Dhannur Police Station, who visited the spot, conducted an inspection.
A case has been registered. Investigation is under way.
