A yellow alert warning of isolated heavy rain has been issued for Thrissur and Ernakulam districts on Wednesday (May 6, 2026). According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological department (IMD) on Tuesday, a north-south trough runs from from a cyclonic circulation over central parts of south Madhya Pradesh to the Gulf of Mannar across Vidarbha, Marathwada, interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level. Under the influence of the tough, widespread isolated showers are likely across the State for the next four days.
