Guntur Municipal Corporation Commissioner K. Mayur Ashok has set a strict four-day deadline for completing the crucial Lakshmipuram Main Road major drain works and warned officials and contractors of action if there is any further delay.

Expressing displeasure over the nearly two-month delay in execution of the project, the Commissioner directed the Superintending Engineer (S.E.) to issue notices to the contractor concerned.

During an inspection at Lakshmipuram and Brindavan Gardens on Saturday, along with engineering and town planning officials, Mr. Mayur Ashok reviewed the pending infrastructure works and instructed officials to expedite execution.

He expressed serious concern over delays in the Lakshmipuram major drain project and the Brindavan Gardens Main Road widening works, holding both engineering and town planning officials accountable. He directed officials to ensure that the pending electricity department works related to the drain construction are completed by Monday.

The Commissioner also instructed amenity secretaries to remain present at the project sites during the execution of works and warned of departmental action in case of negligence.

Reviewing the Brindavan Gardens road-widening project, he sought details regarding consent from property owners and pending court cases. Officials were instructed to take up works in clear stretches and complete the shifting of transformers obstructing the road expansion within two days.

Mr. Mayur Ashok warned that disciplinary action would be initiated if delays continued and public inconvenience was not minimised through timely completion of the works.
