As the Prime Day sale is set to return, the e-commerce platform Amazon is eyeing West Bengal's 70,000 sellers that are not only helping to build a larger customer base but also improving its delivery speed.

The company announced that the 10th edition of Prime Day will run from July 4 to July 6, offering deals, product launches and promotional offers for Prime members.

However, Amazon used the occasion to underscore the growth of its seller ecosystem in West Bengal, where over 20,000 local shops are also active on its platform.

Senior manager of Amazon, Pallavi Singh said, "Amazon’s continued investments in expanding its operations and fulfilment infrastructure in West Bengal have helped improve delivery speeds. In Kolkata, same-day and next-day deliveries have grown by more than 60%."

In Bengal, Amazon’s network includes 03 Fulfilment Centres and 03 Sortation Centres, more than 1050 Amazon Hub Delivery and almost 100 Amazon-owned and Partner Delivery Stations across the state.

"We have noticed some shopping trends in Bengal. Premiumization continues to accelerate in Kolkata and is further reinforced by growth in the INR 30,000 and above segment, while the INR 20,000 to 25,000 segments witnessed a double-digit growth year over year (YoY). Monitors recorded over 20% YoY growth in Kolkata. Dishwashers grew by over 25% YoY, premium refrigerators by more than 35%, and premium washing machines close to 15% YoY. Customers in West Bengal are blending heritage-inspired fashion with contemporary styles, embracing handloom aesthetics and trusted brands across apparel and accessories," said Singh.

She said, "As we mark 10 years of Prime Day in India, it’s been especially encouraging to see the strong adoption and engagement from members in West Bengal. Prime Day continues to be a key moment where we bring together the best of shopping, savings and entertainment exclusively for our Prime members. This year, with a special sign-up offer and our best-ever selection of deals and new launches, we are excited to have customers from West Bengal be part of the biggest Prime Day celebration ever."

As part of the 10-year milestone, Amazon is giving Prime members access to exciting offers across Categories with ‘10th Anniversary deals’ along with an additional 10% savings on payments using SBI and Axis Bank credit card and EMI transactions. With the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card, Prime members will get unlimited 5% cashback.

Making this Prime Day unique, members will get exclusive access to more than 500 new products along with the lowest prices of the year and never-before-seen deals from top Indian and global brands such as OnePlus, Samsung, Lego, Adidas and Allen Solly, amongst others, along with products by Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs).

To mark the 10th edition of Prime Day in India, Amazon is offering a limited-period Anniversary offer to new members—a flat INR 500 off on annual Prime membership (INR 1,499) at just INR 999, Prime Lite at just INR 599/year (from INR 799) and Prime Shopping Edition (PSE) at just INR 299/year (from INR 399), making Prime Day access available at every price point.
