The United Democratic Front (UDF) leadership has allocated three Cabinet berths to Kollam in the new Council of Ministers. The trio set to represent the district in the upcoming Cabinet includes senior Congress leaders P.C. Vishnunadh, Bindu Krishna, and senior Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) leader Shibu Baby John.
Mr. Vishnunadh, who secured a resounding victory from the Kundara constituency, brings legislative and administrative maturity to the new Cabinet. Beginning his political journey through the Kerala Students Union (KSU) and later serving as its State president, Mr. Vishnunadh has long been recognised as one of the most prominent youth faces of the Congress. Ms. Krishna makes her entry into the State Cabinet following a commendable win in the Kollam constituency, reclaiming the seat from the Left Democratic Front (LDF). Former Kollam DCC president and a member of the KPCC Political Affairs Committee, she has been a tireless fighter for the party at the grassroots level. Overcoming consecutive electoral setbacks in previous years, her persistent ground-level activism has earned her a spot in the ministerial line-up.
Representing the coalition partners, Mr. John will return to the State Cabinet from the Chavara constituency, a traditional stronghold. As the son of illustrious leader Baby John, Mr. John carries forward a rich political legacy. Having served successfully as the Minister for Labour and Employment in the previous Oommen Chandy ministry, he also comes with with proven administrative expertise.
