The Salem Corporation has introduced WhatsApp mobile numbers, e-mail, and a website for the public to lodge complaints related to taxes, water issues, and health.

Based on the instructions of the Salem District Collector A. Arun Thamburaj to lodge complaints on the service provided by the Corporation, WhatsApp mobile numbers, e-mail, and a website have been introduced. The complaints or requests received  will be addressed quickly and the action taken will be sent as a message to the complainant. This service will be on direct monitoring of the Salem Corporation Commissioner.

Salem Corporation Commissioner M. Elangovan said that regarding drinking water supply and connection, removal of garbage, under ground drainage connection, property tax, professional tax, business license, and street lights, the public shall lodge their complaints to WhatsApp numbers 83003-83003 or 83000-62992. The public shall also call these numbers or send e-mail to commr.salemcorporation@tn.gov.in or lodge their complaint on the website https;//salemsmartcity.org/. They shall also submit their petitions to the four zonal offices: Sooramangalam, Hasthampatti, Ammapet, and Kondalampatti, to the assistant commissioners between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. every day.

The public is asked to utilise the e-seva centres functioning in zonal offices for applying for drinking water connections, UGD connections, and building approval, the Commissioner added.

The public shall also contact the following phone numbers for their grievances redress: Corporation’s main office - 0427-2212844, Sooramangalam zonal office - 0427-2387514, Hasthampatti zonal office - 0427-2310095, Ammapet zonal office - 0427-2263161, and Kondalampatti zonal office - 0427-2461313, the Commissioner added.
