The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Sunday (May 4, 2026) accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of skewing development by focusing on the capital region of Amaravati at the cost of other parts of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to reporters in Nellore, party’s Nellore district president Kakani Govardhan Reddy said the government was spending ₹20,439 per sq.ft. on the Secretariat and Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) buildings in Amaravati, a figure he said was indefensible.
