The Proddatur police on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) arrested a man on charges of allegedly killing his wife, reportedly citing her obesity as the reason.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Badripalli Padmaja, 31, was poisoned to death by her husband, Badripalli Kiran Kumar. The accused stated that his wife had been neglecting her diet and had become obese; moreover, she did not maintain cleanliness and often roamed around in her nightgown, the police said.
