Mandya Deputy Commissioner Kumar visited a taluk-level training workshop on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls at the Government Tool Training Centre College in Somanahalli, Maddur taluk, on Thursday.

The workshop was organised as part of the Election Commission of India’s voter list revision programme.

During the visit, Mr. Kumar directed officials and staff to carry out the electoral roll revision with responsibility and transparency. He said the inclusion, deletion, correction and change of address of voters should be processed strictly in accordance with the Election Commission’s guidelines.

He instructed officials to conduct thorough door-to-door verification of voter details and ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls. Applications received from the public should be scrutinised on priority and disposed of within the stipulated time, he said.

The training covered the handling of application forms, verification of supporting documents, authentication of voter information, use of online services and the latest directions issued by the Election Commission. Booth Level Officers (BLOs), supervisors, nodal officers and staff from various departments participated.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the arrangements at the training centre and called upon all officials to work in coordination for the successful implementation of the Special Intensive Revision programme.
