C.A. Simon, the Police Superintendent of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Dharmasthala case, and two SIT personnel, escaped unhurt after the car they were travelling in overturned near Panchalingeshwara Temple at Charmadi Ghat on June 16 afternoon.
The police said that Mr. Simon, along with Police Inspector Kusumadhar, was travelling in the official vehicle for work in Chikkamagaluru. The vehicle was driven by another police official, who at one point lost control of the vehicle, which then overturned.
The Belthangady Traffic police said a case was registered against the driver for alleged rash and negligent driving.
