The CPI(M) on Monday petitioned the district administration seeking public toilets and an overhead water tank at Sithakuttai in Nasiyanur town panchayat, during the weekly grievance-redressal meeting at the Collectorate.

Members led by Ward 14 councillor C.P. Thangavel said in the petition that the existing public toilets were inadequate for the 100-odd families residing in the area. They also sought a new borewell and a new overhead water tank to supply drinking water regularly. They said the current supply was inadequate and erratic.
