Ethiraj College for Women (Autonomous), Chennai, has offered R. Annaporani admission to the B.Sc. computer science with artificial intelligence programme, along with a full fee waiver as scholarship support. According to a press release, despite facing severe financial hardships, Ms. Annaporani pursued her education and scored 428 marks in her Class 12 board exams. She was a student of the Saidapet Girls Higher Secondary School. V.M. Muralidharan, chairman of the college, extended his support towards her higher education aspirations after seeing an article about her. S. Uma Gowrie, the college principal and secretary, said the institution remained committed to supporting talented and determined students who aspire to transform their lives through education, despite challenging circumstances.
