In a rare move aimed at attracting students to a government engineering institution, Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who represents the Husnabad constituency, on Wednesday personally promoted admissions to the Satavahana University College of Engineering (SUCE) in Husnabad.
At a press conference held at the Secretariat, the Minister unveiled brochures designed on the lines of promotional material used by private engineering colleges and appealed to students who qualified in the Telangana EAMCET examination to consider joining the government-run institution.
Stating that the Telangana government had established the engineering college in Husnabad with quality infrastructure, Mr. Prabhakar said the institution was offering five B.Tech courses, each with an intake of 60 seats.
“Our college code is SUCE. Students should opt for admissions to our government college,” he said.
The Minister said the college had been developed with high standards and also provided good hostel facilities for students.
