A 40-year-old woman submitted a petition to the Sivaganga District Collector K.Porkodi here on Monday requesting to bring her husband’s body, who died in Israel, back to Tamil Nadu.
Sivanesan, 45, a construction worker from Allur near Sivaganga, is survived by his wife Thavamani, 40, a daughter, and three sons.
He went to Israel in 2024 for construction work. He had recently visited his hometown in January and subsequently returned to Israel.
On Saturday, while at work, Sivanesan passed away suddenly. His colleagues informed his wife Ms. Thavamani about his death over the phone.
She submitted a tearful petition to Ms. Porkodi, urging that her husband’s body be recovered and brought back to Tamil Nadu and requesting that relief assistance be secured for the family. The Collector assured that appropriate action would be taken.
