The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), so as to generate revenue from its properties, on Wednesday stated that tenders for leasing as many as 694 vacant shops located in its commercial complexes across the State will be issued soon.

The Corporation stated that the details of vacant commercial spaces in major cities, towns and depot premises have been uploaded on its website. The spaces are being offered to entrepreneurs planning new ventures as well as businesses seeking expansion.

The transport juggernaut sought to emphasise high footfall at bus stations and its other assets as a lucrative opportunity for those seeking to establish hotels, food courts, supermarkets, branded showrooms and retail outlets.

TGSRTC has over the years sought to monetise its properties by leasing commercial spaces and developing revenue-generating facilities, but the initiative met with limited success, leaving several shops vacant.
