Shetty Institute of Technology in Kalaburagi on Saturday (May 9) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) iON to introduce an industry-focused placement training programme aimed at enhancing students’ employability and skill development.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at the institute’s auditorium. Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil attended the programme as the chief guest.
According to a press release from the institution, Shetty Institute of Technology is among only two colleges in Karnataka selected for the prestigious TCS iON Industry-Focused Placement Training Programme.
The MoU was formally signed in the presence of TCS iON representatives, including business consultant Suresh Kumar, senior regional manager Srikantha, and business analyst Karthik.
The institute’s chairman, Udayshankar Shetty, said that the collaboration is expected to strengthen industry-academia interaction and provide students with training aligned to current corporate requirements, thereby helping them become job-ready professionals.
“The MoU will open up better placement opportunities and provide students with exposure to industry-oriented training modules,” he said.
The institute’s directors, Anirudh Shetty and Shweta Shetty, and principal Prabhu G. Rakaraddi were present.
