HYDERABAD
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Goud on Saturday said that Future City would serve as a ‘compass for the country’, and slammed BRS MLA and former minister T. Harish Rao for his comments on it.
In an informal interaction with the media on Saturday, Mr. Goud criticised the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA for what he termed a lack of foresight, and said the city’s geographical limits had not been expanded despite growing needs. “If Hyderabad expands, State development will follow,” he said, questioning remarks by BRS leader T. Harish Rao and asking whether he believed the city did not require further development.
He said the Congress government in the State was continuing several schemes initiated by the previous ruling.
On party matters, he said names for working presidents had already been sent to the All India Congress Committee (AICC), and announcements would be made soon. He added that Cabinet expansion was the Chief Minister’s prerogative and clarified that he had no role in the process.
