A 45-year-old man, working as an housekeeping supervisor at an L&T mall’s PVR section, died after reportedly suffering chest discomfort, with his family alleging negligence by the management. The Panjagutta police booked a case. The deceased has been identified as Satyanarayana.
According to an officer from the Panjagutta police station, Satyanarayana complained of chest discomfort on Thursday morning, April 16. His brother took him on a motorcycle to Osmania General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police said the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained. While the family suspects a brain stroke, the body was later shifted to Gandhi Hospital for further examination.
Following his death, family members brought the body to the mall and stopped an ambulance outside the premises. They staged a protest demanding a probe into the circumstances leading to his death.
The family alleged that Satyanarayana, who had been working as a housekeeping supervisor for several years, had complained of severe chest pain and sought permission to leave work, but was not allowed to do so by the management. They held the theatre management responsible for his death.
The relatives later staged a sit-in protest inside the mall when police proposed shifting the body to Gandhi Hospital. A complaint has been lodged at Panjagutta police station, and police said a probe has been initiated into the incident.
