The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided premises linked to Punjab Industries Minister Sanjeev Arora on Friday (April 17, 2026). The raids come days after the ED raided Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Kumar Mittal, charging the political atmosphere in Punjab in the run-up to the 2027 Assembly elections.
AAP Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann lost no time in condemning the raids and called it a murder of democracy. “This is a very dangerous trend. Democracy is being murdered. We strongly condemn this. Only non-BJP governments are being harassed. Only opposition leaders face the stick of the ED, and nothing comes of it,” he said.
