The Mysuru City police on Saturday conducted extensive early-morning checks on rowdy-sheeters across various police station limits in the city.
According to a press release, police teams carried out surprise inspections between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. on May 9 at the residences of around 30 rowdy-sheeters under different police station jurisdictions.
The operation covered the limits of Hebbal, Metagalli, Saraswathipuram, Vijayanagar, K.R., Lakshmipuram, Vidyaranyapuram, Ashokapuram, Kuvempunagar, V.V. Puram, Mandi, N.R., Jayalakshmipuram, and Udayagiri police stations. During the drive, the police verified the activities of rowdy-sheeters and checked for weapons and other materials linked to criminal activities.
The press release said the drive was conducted under the guidance of the City Police Commissioner and was supervised by senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners of Police. Multiple special teams comprising inspectors, sub-inspectors, and police personnel participated in the operation.
The police said the special checks were aimed at curbing rowdy activities in Mysuru and warned that stringent action would continue against habitual offenders involved in unlawful activities.
