Gold ornaments weighing 24 overeigns were stolen from the house of a teacher in Valliyoor on Wednesday.

Police said unidentified persons stole the gold jewellery from the house of Rozario of Ramalakshmi Nagar, when he and his wife Sahaya Eugene Shanthi, a teacher, had gone out on Wednesday. When the couple returned, they found the gold ornaments stolen from their home.

Mr. Rozario filed a complaint with the Valliyoor police, who checked the CCTV cameras fitted in the house. They found that the housemaid’s two relatives had come to the house and left after spending sometime there. Further investigations are on.
