Tamil Nadu Thirukovilgal Parambarai Arangavalargal Sangam...
2026-05-20 · via The Hindu: Latest News today from India and the World, Breaking news, Top Headlines and Trending News Videos.

The Tamil Nadu Thirukovilgal Parambarai Arangavalargal Sangam extended its greetings to new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C. Joseph Vijay and wished the new government success in delivering good governance, public welfare and spiritual development.

The Tamil Nadu Thirukovilgal Parambarai Arangavalargal Sangam said that more than 3,000 temples across Tamil Nadu are being administered by Parambarai Arangavalargal. He expressed hope that the new government would work towards the welfare and spiritual advancement of the people. R. Krishnasamy, Coimbatore regional president, said that its objective is to ensure honest, responsible and transparent temple administration so that no doubts arise regarding temple income and management.

He added that the Sangam is not against the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department, but aims to ensure that temple administration remains transparent and properly regulated.

He said the Sangam had placed several important demands before the Chief Minister regarding temples functioning under the HR&CE Department.

These included appointing only the descendants of the families that originally established the temples as Parambarai Arangavalargal, legally recognising Parambarai Arangavalargal of Thiru Kovilgal as administrators under the department, providing proper recognition and representation to them in State-level and regional temple administration and renovation committees, and including the Sangam in higher-level committees of the department.

The meeting was attended by Sangam president R. Krishnasamy, secretary N. Ramkumar, and members of the executive committee.
