In the last one year, the Karnataka Information Commission has settled 40,000 second appeal cases, which is an all-India record according to Prakash Narayan Channal, Information Commissioner of the Belagavi bench.

On May 3, he told reporters in Vijayapura that the commission was hearing 40-60 applications every day in offline and online mode at the Belagavi bench. “Since the number of applications coming to the Belagavi bench has increased, we had decided to resolve 6,000 to 7,000 inquiries per year.”
