Within days of quitting the DMK, former Tiruppur South MLA and secretary of DMK Tiruppur central district unit K. Selvaraj withdrew his resignation.
Mr. Selvaraj, who had contested and lost in Palladam constituency in the recent Assembly polls, had cited “favouritism” towards new entrants over long-time loyalists as the reason for quitting.
In a subsequent letter to party president M.K. Stalin on Saturday (May 23), Mr. Selvaraj regretted his act of resignation and expressed willingness to assume the party post again.
