Deputy Commissioner of Mandya Kumar has ordered the constitution of a Committee to conduct an inspection of all prenatal diagnostic centres in the district in the wake of Lokayukta police uncovering illegal foetal sex determination at two such private centres in K R Pet town.
Chairing a meeting in his office on Friday (April 24, 2026) in the wake of a case registered by the Lokayukta police in the connection, the Deputy Commissioner issued instructions to the officials concerned to take appropriate action against those violating rules under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act.
