The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and the DMK won from the Perambalur (reserved) and the Kunnam Assembly constituencies in Perambalur district.
DMK Minister and MLA of Kunnam Assembly constituency S. S. Sivasankar defeated A. Saranya ( AIADMK) by a margin of 15,557 votes. Mr. Sivasankar polled 87, 237 votes while the votes polled in favour of Saranya was 71,680. The TVK candidate Revathi Muthamilselvan came third bagging 59,170 votes.
