The AIADMK-led alliance has wrested both Ariyalur and Jayankondam Assembly seats from the DMK in Ariyalur district.
While the AIADMK won from Ariyalur constituency, its alliance partner PMK bagged Jayankondam constituency. Unlike in many other constituencies, where winning margins were just in the hundreds, the AIADMK and the PMK candidates won comfortably in Ariyalur district.
