JSW Foundation organised a certificate and job offer distribution programme for rural youth who completed the electrical technician training programme conducted at the Government ITI College in Sandur on Saturday.

The programme for rural youth was launched last December by JSW Foundation. The first phase of the programme got completed and certificates and appointment letters were distributed to successful candidates during the event.

Inaugurating the programme, MLA for Sandur E. Annapurna Tukaram lauded JSW Foundation for establishing a quality training centre for rural youth and providing them with employment opportunities after skill training.

“Rural youth should make use of such opportunities, become skilled professionals and build a better future for themselves,” she said.

Speaking on the occasion, JSW Foundation south zone head Peddanna Beedala said the three-month programme had been completed successfully with the participation of 120 students.

“Out of the 120 students who underwent training and received certificates, 66 candidates have secured jobs in companies such as Schneider Electric, Toyota and Store Craft in Bengaluru. They are receiving an average salary of ₹18,000 per month. Through such initiatives, JSW Foundation aims to enhance industrial skill development and create employment opportunities for youth,” he said.

JSW Steel Limited human resources head Mayuresh Bapat said JSW was working towards developing skilled, confident and self-reliant youth capable of meeting industrial requirements.

“These programmes are playing an important role in transforming rural youth into economically empowered and self-reliant citizens,” he said.

JSW Energy Limited’s Shrikant Hegde, CSR division representatives Shreshta and Grama Vikasa Society’s Sachin Alavatagi, Government ITI College administrative officer Shantappa H., students and staff were present.
