Pune-based National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) on Thursday opened its off-campus learning centre “Artha Manthan” in Mumbai.
Reserve Bank of India’s Executive Director P Vasudevan, who inaugurated the centre located at Kasturi Building, Churchgate, called upon NIBM to collaborate with the banking sector and use the centre as a platform to host discussion forums on various aspects of banking such as Artificial Intelligence, financial inclusion, Digital Personal Data Protection Act, digital payments, cyber security, among others.
He also emphasised the need for co-creation of knowledge and continuous upskilling of workforce in the banking sector. Partha Ray, Director of NIBM, and Anjan Roy, Dean, Executive Programme, NIBM, also spoke at the inaugural function.
The inaugural was attended by senior executives of various banks and financial institutions, who also highlighted several areas of potential collaboration for capacity building.
NIBM was established in 1969 by RBI, in consultation with the Government of India, as an autonomous apex institution for research, training, education and consultancy in bank management.
