Bajaj Finance Ltd (BFL) reported a 23 per cent year-on-year increase in standalone net profit at ₹4,839.5 crore on healthy growth in loans and net interest income, and lower provision towards impairment on financial instruments.

The non-banking finance company (NBFC) had reported a net profit of ₹3,940.44 crore in the year ago quarter.

BFL, in a regulatory filing, said its Vice-Chaiman & Managing Director Rajeev Jain has expressed his willingness to step down from the company.

He has informed that “he will not be offering himself for re-election at the ensuing annual general meeting”.

“Accordingly, he will cease to be Non-Executive Director of the Company at the ensuing annual general meeting scheduled to be held on Thursday, 30 July 2026 (close of business hours),” per the filing.

BFL’s board of directors recommended a final dividend on equity shares at the rate of ₹6 per share (600 per cent) of face value of ₹1 each for FY26.

They also approved the raising of funds via debt instruments including non-convertible debentures (either Indian currency/foreign currency) as a part of the proposed increase in overall borrowing limit from ₹3.75 lakh crore to ₹5.50 lakh crore.

In the reporting quarter (Q4 FY26), net interest income rose 20 per cent on-year to ₹10,716 crore (₹8,910 crore).

Provisions towards impairment of financial instruments declined about 9 per cent on-year to ₹1,953 crore (₹2,142 crore).

BFL’s standalone loan portfolio increased by 21 per cent on-year to stand at ₹36,7226 crore as at March-end 2026.

Meanwhile, the NBFC’s consolidated fourth quarter net profit (including the results of Bajaj Housing Finance and Bajaj Financial Securities) increased by 27 per cent yoy to ₹5,660. Assets under management were up 22 per cent on-year to stand at ₹509,975 crore as at March-end 2026.
