Unai Emery has, over the years, become a name synonymous with the Europa League. The Spaniard added another title to his trophy cabinet as he guided Aston Villa to glory in Turkey on Wednesday.
Playing German side Freiburg, Villa scored twice in the first half and once after restart, securing the Europa League crown at the Tüpraş Stadium in Istanbul.
But beyond the team’s success, the result re-established the dominance of Emery in the competition.
