Ivory Coast will take on Ecuador in both nations’ opening match at FIFA World Cup 2026 on Monday.

Ecuador conceded just five goals in 18 qualifying matches, the fewest among CONMEBOL sides, and finished second in the qualifiers, just behind Argentina.

Meanwhile, Ivory Coast raised its stakes with a win over France – one of the favourites to win the World Cup – in the warm-ups and will look to continue the same form into the quadrennial tournament.
