Mercedes AMG’s George Russell clinched pole at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix qualifying in Spain on Saturday.
Russell was at provisional pole in Q3 after the restart following a crash from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.
Meanwhile, five-time consecutive race winner and Championship leader Kimi Antonelli, also from Mercedes AMG, looked to steal a sixth pole position, but he had to settle for P3.
Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton settled into P2 comfortably behind Russell, placing a separation between a Mercedes front row lock-out.
