India lost 0-2 against Australia in their AFC Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 opener at the Suzhou Taihu Football Sports on Saturday.
Theodora Joy found a way past the Indian defence from outside the box in the first half, while Abhisha Basnett bundled the ball into her own net in the second.
India will next take on Japan on May 5 before finishing off the group stage on May 8 against Lebanon.
