Norway will look to make a positive start in the FIFA World Cup 2026 as it faces Iraq in their group-stage match in Boston on Tuesday.
The Nordic country features some dangerous forwards in Erling Haaland and Alexander Sorloth, while its midfield has sufficient elite experience in Martin Odegaard, who helped Arsenal to the Premier League title after 22 years.
Norway last played in the FIFA World Cup in 1998. That team featured Stale Solbakken, who is now the coach of the team.
Norway drew in its opening game with Morocco and then played out a draw with Scotland. In its last group-stage match, it stunned eventual champion Brazil to qualify for the knockout stages.
In the round of 16, it lost to 0-1 Italy, with the winner from Christian Vieri.
