Not many would have expected Canada to top Group B at the start of FIFA World Cup 2026, but here is Jesse Marsch’s side needing just one point against Switzerland, the highest-ranked team in the group, to seal the first spot.

Its 6-0 thrashing of Asian champion Qatar did a world of good for its goal difference and only a loss to Switzerland will snatch the top spot from the side.

For the European side, a late second-half burst against Bosnia and Herzegovina had all but ensured a round of 32 spot. On Wednesday, it would hope to fire so as to proceed to the knockouts on a winning note.
